The name “Cubburo” sounds ancient and mysterious, like a trip back in time to the millenary history of Sicily and its farming culture. These “Cubburi”, archaic buildings with a tholos shape, are scattered all over the Sicilian countryside, silent witnesses of a remote past. One of them is located right in our winery’s estate, a suggestive presence that reminds us of the deep roots of our land and the winemaking tradition that has been passed down from father to son for generations. Why “Cubburo”? To pay homage to this symbol of rural Sicily, to preserve the memory of the past and to transmit the value of our history to the new generations. Features
It stands up a deep ruby-red colour. A fruity bouquet of cherries, red berries, and currants, with hints of liquorice and chocolate, is highly refined on the nose. Its tannins are soft and velvety, and its texture is elegant and fresh. The first sip will have you hooked on the balanced taste created by spicy and mineral notes.
